Our Mission Statement
It is our mission to empower families to become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life.
The Housing & Opportunity Foundation of Kern (HOFK) assists residents in the county's low-income public housing and those in the Section 8 program in becoming self-sufficient.
The seniors, youth, and families we assist have sought us out in an effort to change their lives. Many face barriers such as limited education, little or no job experience or training, low self-esteem, and a lack of positive role models.
We help them help themselves by providing the resources, support, and environment they need to become self-sufficient members of our community.
